CALL FOR PAPERS
IEE Proceedings Communications - Special Issue on Telemedicine and e-Health Communication Systems
IEE Proceedings Communications invites contributions on the above subject, which is part of an ongoing series of special issues in communications technology and innovation.
Recently, telemedicine and e-health activities have seen a large number of successful applications in health care delivery through different communication technologies. Mobile, wireless and fixed communication networks have pushed the deployment of new e-health services, being a very useful and real test bed for the R-D activities applied to communication-based services. Additionally, the use of nano and micro devices (within personal and body-area networks), the new wireless standards and the space telemedicine and satellite applications are requesting new innovative, efficient, interoperable and scalable solutions to make affordable the deployment of e-health systems on a massive scale.
Authors are particularly invited to submit paper contributions including, but not limited to, the following topics:
- health communication systems architecture
- Personal and body area networks
- Standardisation aspects in e-health related communications
- Quality of service
- Network architectures
- Wireless telemedicine and communications technologies in healthcare
- Mobile health applications and new home care telecare systems
- Wireless LANs and data communications for healthcare networks
- Space telemedicine and satellite applications
- Telemedicine and e-health best practices
- Evaluation of e-health communication systems
- Ethical and legal considerations
- Future trends
It is envisaged that papers accepted for this special issue could be invited to publish their research as part of a new book series.
Submission deadline: December 31, 2006
Manuscripts should not exceed 4000 words (excluding references, tables and figures).
Information for authors can be found at http://www.iee.org/Publish/Support/Auth/ . When submitting please be sure to complete the "Special Issue" section.
